JABARI VOSS
My name is Jabari and I'm a music producer based in Brooklyn. I produce LoFi Hip-Hop, Trap, Hip-Hop, R&B and Soul, and various other genres for artists and personal release.

I've been interested in making music since I was 11 years old. However, my environment at the time of a pretty split family, and growing emotional gaps gave me no creative outlet and I was restrained to a burning desire instead. Music was a dying art in my family and it seemed that it would end at me. However, after I got my hands on an iPod, I soon entered into the world of GarageBand and quickly realized I had quite the ear for music. So, I spent countless hours jumping between GarageBand and FL Studio until it clicked for me.

After many sleepless nights, failed attempts at not being able to translate my feelings into sounds, and embarrassing displays of uncoordinated tracks I started to finally make beautiful music. I let my heart do a lot of the talking instead of my indecisive mind, and before I knew it I unearthed my talent for music. I rapidly learned how to use FL Studio, and quickly moved away from GarageBand. Music also became one of the many aids for my newly acquired depression and PTSD along the journey.
Now, I'm fluent in tuning 808s, chopping samples, layering melodies, bouncing hi hats, rolling snares, and panning percussive elements in my music. However, even as I master the methods to these sounds I'm still learning about my music on a much more personal scale.

As I've come into my own unique sound as a musician I've grown a tight knit, family like fan base that has gotten me through some of the roughest times. I've collaborated with flowering record labels, growing rappers, gospel singers, and even foreign artists. I've very quickly become a diverse musician. But, I realize that it is essential to maintain a balance between knowledge and feeling. No one can truly master his or her craft until they reach a balance in both areas.

My music has become a manifestation of all the hardships, joys, and understandings I have gained as a person. It has transcended any auditory restrictions and touches people in ways that I had no idea it could. Thus, I am eternally indebted to my music and I have decided to base my entire life around it.

I now produce and DJ in hopes of understanding, even more, what role music plays in the lives of others.
